Macro

Macro is the hand-operated control source. It has no inputs; its parameters are the signal. Depending on Mode it acts as a single fader, an XY pad, a four-component vector, a set of buttons, or a selector, and it emits the result as a control stream any operator can follow. It is the natural landing point for values you set by hand or map from a UI.

Pick a Mode, then drive X (and Y, Z, W as the mode uses them) from parameters, a panel, or an exported CHOP channel. Wire out into the parameters to control, directly or through Map or Curve for range and response shaping.

  • No inputs. Macro generates its output from its parameters.
  • Output 0: out — the control stream. Width follows the mode: one channel for one_d, two for xy, four for vector.
  • X, Y, Z, W — the hand-set values. one_d uses X, xy uses X and Y, vector uses all four, buttons and selector treat them as states.
  • Min and Max — output range mapping for the values.
  • Mode — one_d, xy, vector, buttons, or selector.
  • Bipolar — output swings around zero instead of 0 to 1.
  • Macro is a clean seam between a UI and the control graph: map panel widgets to Macro, then let the graph shape the result.
  • selector emits a chosen index, useful for switching a downstream Mix in select mode.
  • The parameters are smoothed, so a mapped fader move lands without steps.
