Stem Recorder
Purpose
Section titled “Purpose”Stem Recorder captures a multi-channel bus to disk as separate WAV files, one per stem, all sample-aligned to each other. Stemwidth decides whether each channel becomes its own mono file or each pair becomes a stereo file. Jam in Voro, then polish the stems in a DAW; it also captures per-speaker feeds for spatial work. The signal passes through untouched.
Place it on the multi-channel bus you want to split, for example the output of a mixer with stems laid out across channels. Set Filepath as the base path, pick Stemwidth, and toggle Record to capture. Because out is a transparent passthrough, it can live permanently inline and be armed whenever a take is worth keeping.
Inputs and outputs
Section titled “Inputs and outputs”- Input 0:
audiois the signal to record. Mono, stereo, or multi-channel up to 64 channels. Required. - Output 0:
outpasses the input through unchanged.
Controls
Section titled “Controls”- Filepath: base path for the stem files. One WAV is written per stem.
- Stemwidth:
Monowrites one file per channel,Stereoone file per channel pair. - Record: toggles capture. On starts fresh files; off stops and finalizes them.
- Maxseconds: safety cap on recording length, up to 7200 seconds. Capture stops at this limit even if Record stays on.
- All stems start and stop together and are sample-aligned, so they drop into a DAW session in phase.
- Writing happens on a separate writer thread through a non-blocking ring; recording does not interrupt playback.
- Let Record turn off before opening the files elsewhere, so they are finalized.
