Timeline Beat

Timeline Beat reads a timeline clock and hands back the parts you usually want to animate with: how far through the beat you are, how far through the bar, which step, and a short pulse each time one changes.

Wire a timeline clock into timeline. The control output is a 0 to 1 ramp that climbs once per beat, ready to drive anything that takes a control signal. Set the Reveal menu to read the rest as named channels and bind those where you need them.

  • Input 0: timeline timeline clock. Wire one in. The output only means something with a clock behind it.
  • Output 0: control beat phase, from 0 to 1 within each beat.

None. Timeline Beat has no parameters. Its behavior comes from the clock you wire in.

  • Reveal channels: beat_phase, bar_phase, step_phase, beat_pulse, bar_pulse, step_pulse, step_index, bpm, and absolute_beat.
  • Each pulse is high for about 1/30 of a second after its beat, bar, or step changes.
  • Bar and step values need a clock in metered mode. In free mode they read zero.
  • Pulses fire only while the clock is playing.
